I welcome you all at Hotel Godwin Haridwar as General Secretary of WAI and thankful to all of you for giving me the responsibility oif holding the charge of General Secretary in this Holy place, for the session 2011 -15.
With sincere efforts made by the whole WAI family , Executive committee members, Coaches and players we achieved lot during this session .
This year Wushu included in CBSE school games and it was announced by CBSE board that from the coming year the Wushu championship was organised at various level. I would like to thanks to Our Honble Chairman Dr Yogender Narayan ji to achieve this goal for which we were trying for years. Wushu is all set to be the part of All India Police Games and hope this year it will be included in Kendriya Vidyalya, Navodya Vidyalaya,Railway and All India University Games.
We organised successfully different National and zonal championship with the support of Karnatka, Meghalya,Manipur, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Haryana State units. We express our thanks to all the office bearers of the concern state Unit.
We send our team to participate in different world championships ie World Games, California, 5th Asian Junior Wushu Championship-Manila-Phillipines, 12th World Wushu Championship – Kuallampur – Malyasia , 5th Junior World Wushu Championship – Antalya, Turkey and our players won medals in each of them. Thanks to our Players and coaches and also to SAI for his support to organise training camps before these events.
Indian Wushu Team (Junior/Senior)participated in the International Invitational championships ie Singapore International Wushu Championship – Jurong – Singapore , Jiaojuo International Taijiquan Wushu Championship – Jiaojuo- China, Hongkong International Wushu Championship- Hongkong and our players won medals in all these championships.
During the 3rd Lusofonia Games in Goa Indian team sweeped the almost all medals in Sanshou and taolu event. For the first time Wushu included in this prestigious championship and we became successful to conduct this championship in spite of local problems. We would like thanks to all of our office bearers who help us to clear all the obstacles. We won 9 Gold medals in this event.
We would extremely thankful IWUF for their kind support by way of providing Sanshou and Taolua as a gift of token for make this sports prominent in every nook and corner of the country.
With Sincere love and affection bestowed upon by the Wushu family, i will not leave any stone unturned.and hope with the support of MYAS , SAI and the blessing of Bhupender Singh Bajwa, we will achieve the new heights in the forthcoming Asian Games , and will organise South Asian Wushu Championship and Commonwealth Wushu championship in India in 2014 and 15.
